Outside of work, my wife and I run a charity in memory of our son Charlie who passed away at the age of 23 months old. The charity, Charlie’s Guys, provides children who have lost a sibling with a unique and special experience or gift so they feel loved and not forgotten during a very tragic and trying time. The organization is born out of all the generosity our oldest son Scottie received after losing his younger brother. Now we want to give back to those who are also changed by this type of tragedy.

There is a story behind the name: Charlie loved superheroes. His favorites were Transformers: Robots in Disguise. “The Guys” is his pronunciation of “disguise.”
